Wondering what the inside of the First Second offices look like?
Here’s a glimpse at what’s in my cube.
First (and most importantly): the bookshelf. It is currently slightly overflowing, a clear sign that mailings are in my future.
Here’s the two-sides view of my cube. (You can see I have the draft for this blog open on my computer screen.)
Here’s a close-up of one side. It is an excellent cube, for the most part! Though I worry that the plant is getting out of hand.
And here is the other side, which includes more cups of tea than did the previous one.
The ‘what I’m reading now’ pile on my desk — Holly Black’s The Coldest Girl in Coldtown and Lois McMaster Bujold’s Cryoburn.
Secondary seating: the large red ball. It is currently surrounded by Battling Boy-related bags. And that’s a Jon Chad poster on the wall.
And here’s the outside of my cube — nonetheless filled with things! You guys, the Six Degrees of Francis Bacon poster that Idiots Books does (that is on this wall) is super! I recommend it to you all.
And the other exterior wall to the right of the cube-outside you were previously looking at. Contents include: a poster about going to prison when you’re a teen by Danica Novgorodoff, a New Yorker cover by Luke Pearson, original art by John Allison and Ben Hatke’s daughter, and other cool things!
Thanks for coming to visit!

[…] in the future, but a good deal closer, the :01 mailroom (I’m guessing that’s mostly Gina Gagliano, an absolutely key part of their operations) has been busy, with three separate advance review […]
